-
This could be as a link, download or attachment

How often does Phishing happen to businesses?

Examples of the different types of Phishing
-
Pharming – redirects users from a website to a replica spam site where they can ask for details, this is an advanced form of phishing and so it can be more difficult to know it’s not true.
-
Whaling Attacks – Usually attacking the higher paid company staff, sophisticated language and images are used in the email to scam directors/CEO’s etc.
-
Deceptive Phishing – Impersonating a true organisation or person to get someone to click a link or enter payment details, posing as PayPal and Amazon for example.
How do you prevent these attacks?
-
If you are unsure of an email asking you to click a link or if something doesn’t look correct, forward this to the business who its claiming to be, to check its legitimate before you do anything that could harm your business.
-
Train your staff on an overview of Email Phishing and what to look out for and what to do when someone suspects.
